Wonder what would happen if the sky was white and the soil black?. What if nature was white and the water black?
What if there were no shades of life?
I sat down in my black chair with white cushions in a room that was painted white with a black ceiling fan overhead.
There is purity and innocence and sincerity in these colours. There is no mixing up, no interface shades, no ifs and buts.
White is white, and black is black.
These are the two colours of truth with no farce or deceit. There is no scope for midway or divergence from factuality. There won’t be any makeup or cutting sides or pollution. No fumbling of authenticity or digression from the visual facts.
Seven colours of vibgyor and the millions of mixed shades of life have made life more complicated and unpredictable.
More choices lead to situations of running amuck in search of better shades of life, of better means of livelihood and better vistas of physical delight.
The human mind can take several commands at a time but will not follow each one. Life is a rosy mattress to sleep in, even if the choices are fixed and limited. It’s easy to understand — yes or no, day or night, happy or depressed, man or woman, boy or girl, love or hate, etc.
Life plays games when we try to find issues and themes between the two.
More choices make our minds and psyche go dilly dally; should I?; can I?; can’t I?; will I?
What if life was easy and displayed with only two choices: like going to the market with the preconceived notion that the shirt would be either white or black? The shops at the malls will not have to dance all over to woo the customers with pseudo and concocted shades.
Yes, we cannot change the cycle and the protocol of our galaxy, but we can certainly change our mindset. Let’s not entangle ourselves in the web of making unnecessary and uncalled for choices and eventually landing with the worst offering.
Let’s practice being straight forward in our dealings and emotions.
Let’s not carry the baggage of material relations and not realise till the end whether we really liked them or hated them.
Why do we carry on with people that we don’t know are actually needed in our lives? Why can’t we have a choice between white and black? It’s just one thing to choose to live with that person, or not live with that person. Why are compromises and adjustments causing so much pain?
Let life be just one colour(good or bad) without scratching the mind or soul for a fifth-percentile liking or hatred. Let our speech and expression be the only two sides of the coin. It is easy for the person in front to comprehend whether he is liked or hated.
Make black and white halos around you and lead a life of peace, integrity and satisfaction
